At game time, Syracuse University’s Carrier Dome can contain 49,250 spectators — exceeding the population of many towns and villages. It becomes its own community, with a food supply, law enforcement, even medical care.

Did you know the doctors who staff the dome during large events are emergency medicine physicians from Upstate University Hospital? That’s right. The doctors in the first aid station are faculty members affiliated with the region’s only Level One Trauma Center, at Syracuse’s  academic medical center.

Upstate’s emergency department has provided first aid at the Dome for 20 years, caring for fans, employees and vendors. So, if you fall ill or become injured at a Dome event, you are in good hands with Upstate.
